An Amazing Year

State Team

The 2014 - 2015 season for Act1 has just recently come to an end. While OSSAA competitions end with the school year and the National tournament ends mid-summer, our practice continues through the summer months. We have just transitioned into our fall semester and it gives us an opportunity to look through the success of our students over the last year.

As you will find in reviewing the results below, out students had a STELLAR year! It gives us great pride to observe the overwhelming dedication and hard work these young men and women put into perfecting their talents. We look forward to many years of continued success!

Here's a recap of the Regional tournament: "Josh Reed and Judy Humphrey dominated Original Oratory. Josh received 1st and Judy placed 2nd! Bryce Allen and Allee Thiessen went up against very difficult competition and are bringing home home 2nd place in Dramatic Duet! It's no surprise that our humorous partners took Regionals by storm and placed 1st in Humorous Duet! Denim Holman and Josh Reed amazed many with their superb debating skills and brought home the gold in Cross-Examination! Bryce Allen and Judy Humphrey also dominated a round by receiving 1st and 2nd place. Bryce received 1st and Judy got 2nd in Humorous Interpretation! Besides Original Oratory, Judy also brought home 2nd in Prose! Denim Holman is not only strutting bling for Debate but also for 3rd place in Dramatic Interpretation and and 2nd place in Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking! However, what these girls have accomplished is amazing and we are extremely proud of how far they've gotten and the wonderful performances that they put on these past couple of days. Top 60 or not, we still think they are the best! Thank you for representing Oklahoma in an awesome way, Bryce and Jenna! We are so proud of you!" It appeared Bryce and Jenna ranked in the top 75 duets of the nation!!
